So we have the new participatory, collaborative Web 2.0 were does that take us what, what other aspects of society does the new web touch upon and influence? What for example is the effect on the world of business?
Enterprise 2.0 is a new kind of business entity, one the opens its doors to the world; co-innovates with everyone, especially customers; shares resources that were previously closely guarded; harnesses the power of mass collaboration; and behaves not as a multinational but as something new: a truly global firm.

I certainly see where Tapscott & Williams are coming from and can see the faint spark of such a transformation in the world of large enterprises. However, a long and harsh road lies ahead for most that still thrive internally with hierarchical closed management structures, a road along which many traditional players will fall to leaner, hungrier start-ups … the opportunities are out there for new niches and new business models - let battle commence!
